Day 2 : We met Dave Simmons about midnight after going through customs
and immigration in Lima. Went ahead and checked in for our next flight to
Pucallpa around 0100. Our flight did not board until 0500, so we sat and talked
with Dave getting to know one another. We landed in Pucallpa a little after
0600 and were picked up at the airport by Dave’s son Michael and one of the
SAMAIR missionaries, Bryce. We went directly from the airport to the SAMAIR
base which is about a half an hour from the airport.
We went to church, Mil Palmeras (1000 Palms), with the
Simmons and other SAM and SAMAIR missionaries. We had a wonderful worship
service, even with the five us fighting to remain awake due to traveling for almost 21 hours without much sleep, and were able to see
three people get baptized. That evening we had a meet and greet with multiple SAMAIR
staff and families.
